  3. Signal Analysis: DSP techniques enable the analysis of signals in both time and frequency domains. This includes techniques such as Fourier analysis, which decomposes a signal into its constituent frequencies, and time-domain analysis, which examines the behavior of a signal over time.
  4. Compression: DSP is used in data compression techniques such as JPEG for images, MP3 for audio, and MPEG for video. These techniques exploit redundancies in the data to reduce the amount of storage space or bandwidth required for transmission.
  5. Modulation and Demodulation: In communication systems, DSP is used for the modulation of digital signals onto carrier waves for transmission and their subsequent demodulation at the receiver end.
  6. Echo Cancellation and Equalization: DSP algorithms are employed to cancel echoes in telecommunications systems and to equalize signals to compensate for distortions introduced by transmission channels.
