Telegram’s latest update, version 11.12.0, introduces several new features aimed at enhancing user experience and providing more control over communications.

These updates include direct messaging to channels, voice message trimming, high-definition photo sharing, and improved group topic navigation.

📬 Direct Messaging to Channels

Users can now send direct messages to channels, allowing for private conversations with channel owners and administrators.

This feature enables content creators to interact directly with their audience without revealing personal contact information.

Additionally, creators have the option to set a fee for each direct message received, offering a new monetization avenue.

✂️ Voice Message Trimming

The update introduces the ability to trim voice messages before sending. Users can edit the beginning and end of a voice message by swiping up to lock the recording and then trimming as needed.

This feature allows for more precise and polished voice communications.

🖼️ High-Definition Photo Sharing

Telegram now supports sending photos in high-definition (HD) quality. The new HD option provides images with four times as many pixels while maintaining a file size of less than 0.5MB.

This enhancement ensures that users can share clearer and more detailed images without significant data usage.

🧵 Enhanced Group Topic Navigation

Group topics have been updated with a new tab layout, facilitating easier navigation between different conversations within a group. Users can switch between a minimalist bar at the top of the chat or a larger sidebar, depending on their preference.

This feature can be enabled through Group Settings > Topics.

📊 Additional Features

  • Poll Enhancements: Polls now support up to 12 options and can be saved to the ‘Saved Messages’ list for future reference.
  • Improved Media Sharing on iOS: iOS users can share media directly to their Telegram story from other apps using the default ‘Share’ button.

These updates collectively aim to provide Telegram users with more versatile and user-friendly communication tools, enhancing both personal and group interactions on the platform.
