Samsung has expanded the health monitoring capabilities of its Galaxy Watch series in India, introducing Blood Pressure (BP) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) features to the Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 5, and Watch 4 models. These enhancements, accessible through the Samsung Health Monitor app, empower users to perform health assessments directly from their wrists.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Series

The Galaxy Watch 6 series, launched in 2023, offers comprehensive health tracking features. With the integration of BP and ECG monitoring, users can now measure heart rhythms and blood pressure levels in real-time.

The watches utilize advanced sensors to detect electrical heart signals, providing data that can be shared with healthcare professionals. Additionally, the Galaxy Watch 6 features a larger display with a slimmer bezel, enhancing user experience.

The 44mm variant is priced at ₹32,999 for the Bluetooth model and ₹36,999 for the LTE version.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Series

The Galaxy Watch 5 series continues to support users’ wellness journeys with the addition of BP and ECG functionalities. These features, combined with existing health metrics like heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking, offer a holistic view of the user’s health.

The watches are equipped with a 284mAh battery and 1.5GB RAM, ensuring smooth performance.

The 44mm Bluetooth variant is available at ₹27,999.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Series

The Galaxy Watch 4 series now includes BP and ECG monitoring, enhancing its suite of health tracking tools. Users can monitor their heart health and blood pressure, alongside features like step counting and sleep analysis.

The watch boasts a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display and 1GB RAM.

The 44mm variant is priced at ₹12,499.

  2. Calibration: Follow the instructions on the Samsung Health Monitor app to calibrate your watch.
  3. Measurement:
    • BP: Wear the watch snugly and remain still during the measurement.
    • ECG: Open the Samsung Health Monitor app, rest your fingertip on the top button for 30 seconds, and view the results on your phone.

These features are activated following regulatory approvals from India’s Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, ensuring compliance with local health standards.
