1. Setting Up Face ID
- Ensure there’s nothing obstructing the TrueDepth camera or your face. If you’re wearing glasses or a face mask, you might need to remove them temporarily during setup.
- For iPhone 12 or later with iOS 15.4 and beyond, Face ID can work even with face masks.
- To set up:
- Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode. Enter your passcode if prompted.
- Tap Set Up Face ID.
- Hold your device in portrait mode, position your face in front, and tap Get Started.
- Move your head gently to complete the circle. If you can’t move your head, tap Accessibility Options.
- After the first scan, tap Continue and repeat the process.
- Once done, tap Done.
2. Unlocking Your Device with Face ID
- Either raise your device to wake it or tap the screen.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the Lock screen.
